What's sold
This is Belgium's official register for online court-ordered (judicial public) sales of movable goods. Most lots were seized from debtors (beslag / saisie-exécution), and some are voluntary sales. Expect used cars and vans, often without papers, as well as shop contents, furniture, jewellery and e-bikes. The median lot sells for about EUR 35.
Who can bid
- Private buyers: You must be an adult with an account. Belgians log in with eID or itsme. Everyone else uses a password, an SMS code, a mobile number in international format and a scanned ID card, passport or driving licence. Germany is in the country list, but the full list of allowed countries is not confirmed. None of the sales checked asked for a deposit (waarborg / caution). The bailiff can refuse you access.
- Businesses: You give the company name, VAT number, registered office and the representative's details. Some vehicle sales are open only to motor-trade firms that can prove their trade code. EU businesses pay Belgian VAT up front and reclaim it later.
Registration
- Choose your login: eID/itsme (Belgian ID) or the password route.
- On the password route, enter your details and mobile number and upload an ID scan. How quickly foreign accounts are approved is not confirmed.
- Businesses: enter the company name and VAT number carefully. They cannot be changed once you win.
- Open the sale and read its Particular Terms (bijzondere verkoopsvoorwaarden / conditions particulières). They are in Dutch or French only.
- Subscribe to the sale and accept its Particular Terms before you place your first bid.
Fees and real total cost
| Fee | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Platform fee (retributie) | 7.5% of hammer | Charged on every lot |
| VAT on fee | 21% | 9.075% of the hammer in total |
| VAT on hammer | 21% | Only where the lot shows "VAT on bid: 21%" |
| Auction costs (veilingkosten) | 12.40% + 21% VAT | Some Brugge sales; shown only in the Particular Terms |
| Invoice extract | EUR 10 | One bailiff; most give it free on written request |
| Payment | Not confirmed | Mollie link or cash seen; full list of methods not confirmed |
| Storage | EUR 7/day, or EUR 50/week after a month | Varies by sale; goods may be resold, destroyed or treated as abandoned |
| Non-payment | 10% (min. EUR 40) + resale shortfall + costs | You never receive any surplus |
| Bid-error correction | EUR 500 | One bailiff |
Worked example, hammer price EUR 1,000:
- Hammer: EUR 1,000.00
- VAT on hammer: EUR 0, or EUR 210.00 if "VAT on bid" is shown
- Platform fee 7.5%: EUR 75.00, plus EUR 15.75 VAT
- Other fees: none in most sales (add EUR 150.04 where 12.40% veilingkosten apply)
- Total: EUR 1,090.75, or EUR 1,300.75 with VAT on the hammer. Storage, travel and transport are not included.
How bidding works
- You can bid by hand or set an automatic bid up to a hidden maximum. It goes up by the minimum increment.
- Ties go to the earliest bid. An automatic bid counts from the moment you set it.
- The bailiff sets the increment for each lot. Increments from EUR 1 to EUR 2,000 have been seen.
- Some sales close one lot per minute; others close every lot at once. Only one bailiff states a 5-minute extension. Elsewhere, extensions are not confirmed, so last-second bidders can win.
- No reserve is published, but the bailiff can reject a low bid, withdraw the lot or cancel the sale. You cannot challenge this.
- Your bid is binding and cannot be withdrawn. The bailiff may correct an obvious typing error, possibly for a fee.
- Many Particular Terms keep losing bidders bound. If the winner does not pay, the second-highest bid can be enforced.
Watch out
- Be online with your banking ready when your lot closes, including Saturday and Sunday evenings. Payment is often due within 4 hours.
- There is no warranty and no right of withdrawal. Complaints after the sale are refused, and the bailiff's decision on disputes is final.
- Vehicles often come without papers, keys or a Car-Pass (odometer certificate). You may not be able to register them abroad.
- Viewing may be limited or not offered. You collect on a fixed day with your own tools, boxes and transport, and the goods are at your risk from the award.
- There are almost no independent buyer reviews, and sales are sometimes cancelled after bids are placed.
Verdict: A legitimate, state-backed source of cheap goods with low fees. It suits you if you can view, pay quickly and collect in Belgium, and can accept no warranty.
