What's sold
Much of the stock comes from bankruptcies and seizures, sold for curators and banks, such as factory tools and inventory. Commercial suppliers also sell new goods like sliding doors, generators, garden sheds and tiny houses, often with high start bids and free delivery inside the Netherlands. Estate and second-hand items come through the partner OOZZOO, mostly under the margin scheme.
Who can bid
- Private buyers: You must be at least 18. Any country is allowed. Registering with a free email address means your first bid triggers SMS verification. Bring ID to pickup. Whether a bidding deposit is required is not confirmed.
- Businesses: You must give your company name, VAT number (BTW-nummer) and chamber of commerce number (KvK-nummer). Any country is allowed. Whether a foreign business gets a 0% intra-EU invoice is not confirmed, so ask in writing before you bid.

How bidding works
- You can bid normally (normaal bod) or set a proxy bid (auto bod) up to your maximum. On equal amounts a proxy beats a normal bid, and an earlier proxy beats a later one.
- Your opening bid must be the start price plus one increment. Increments are not published; observed steps range from EUR 10 at low prices to EUR 100 above EUR 7,500.
- Any bid in the final 5 minutes adds 5 minutes to that lot. Lots close in category batches, usually in the evening.
- Sellers may set a hidden reserve (minimumbod). Yellow status means you lead but are below it. After closing the seller has up to 5 working days to decide on the award (gunning).
- Bids are binding and cannot be withdrawn, even typos. You remain bound as second-highest bidder too.
- Only a consumer at a public auction (openbare veiling) may withdraw a bid, by email, well before closing.
- ProVeiling can change dates, refuse bids or cancel auctions without explanation.
Watch out
- Many buyers report winning but not being awarded (niet gegund), then seeing the lot relisted.
- Items are sold as seen without warranty, often with no viewing day; misdescribed vehicles, boats and fakes are reported.
- Count everything at pickup, because shortages found later are not credited.
- The site names no legal entity, so record the company and KvK number from your invoice.
Verdict: Fees are easy to calculate, but hidden reserves, binding bids and the 30% penalty make this a risky site. It suits buyers in the Netherlands who can view and collect in person.
