What's sold
ÖVG-Versteigerungs GmbH, based in Voitsberg (Styria), runs online-only auctions. Most of its stock comes from business closures, insolvency administrators and public bodies. Lots range from vehicles, forklifts, mini excavators and woodworking machines to PV parts, clothing, records and wine. Many auctions start at EUR 1. Some auctions are shipping-only, and most are pickup-only.
Who can bid
- Private buyers: You can bid in gross auctions (Bruttoversteigerung), labelled Elektro-Freizeit. There, the bid already includes the fee and VAT. Under the terms, net auctions (Nettoversteigerung) are open only to businesses (Unternehmer). Registration asks for an email address only, so ID checks and country restrictions are not confirmed.
- Businesses: You can bid in all auctions. Prices in net auctions are shown "+18% Geb. +20% USt". Whether EU businesses with a VAT ID get a 0% (reverse charge) invoice, or have to pay a VAT deposit, is not confirmed. Ask before you bid.
Registration
- Open "Neues Bieterkonto" and enter your email address, a username (visible to other bidders) and a password.
- Accept the auction terms (Allgemeine Versteigerungsbedingungen).
- Enter the code sent to your email.
- Complete the remaining two form steps (contents not confirmed).
- Before bidding, read each auction's own pickup or shipping conditions. You must accept them too.

How bidding works
- The highest bidder at the end of the running time wins the lot (Zuschlag).
- A bid in the last two minutes adds two minutes. Each further bid adds one minute.
- Whether there are maximum (proxy) bids and fixed increments is not confirmed. The public lot pages show no bid agent.
- Bids are binding and cannot be withdrawn. Outbid and bid emails are not an award.
- No reserve prices are mentioned. ÖVG may delete bids for gross errors, third-party ownership claims or other serious reasons. It may also withdraw or re-auction lots, or end or extend an auction.
- Whether ÖVG or the seller may bid is not addressed in the terms.
Watch out
- Goods are sold as is (in dem Zustand). Data and weights are not binding, and damages are excluded. Consumers keep statutory defect rights, but only for one year.
- The terms do not mention a withdrawal right (Rücktrittsrecht). You also waive rescission for error or laesio enormis, so do not count on returning a lot.
- Pickup dates are strict. At sites outside Voitsberg, pickup is often a single three-hour slot, e.g. Rustorf an der Rott (DE). You must bring tools and staff for dismantling.
- If you do not pay or collect on time, the lot is re-auctioned. You owe any shortfall plus the 20% Stornogebühr.
- There are few reviews and no Trustpilot profile. Reviews praise friendly staff. Complaints mention items that differed from the photos and months of login trouble after a phone change.
Verdict: A genuine Austrian liquidation auctioneer that suits buyers who can inspect and collect in person. Add about 42% to net-auction bids, plus transport, and treat every bid as final.
