What's sold
AuctionPort BV is based in the Port of Antwerp. It runs about 40 auctions a month of excavators, loaders, forklifts, aerial platforms, tractors, generators, trucks, trailers, cars, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, racking and liquidation stock. AuctionPort sells in its own name, so your contract is with AuctionPort. Many lots are actually at Dutch supplier sites.
Who can bid
- Private buyers: You open a private account (Privatperson) and pass an automated ID check with an ID card, passport or driving licence. Neither the terms nor the FAQ ask for a deposit. You cannot bid in auctions marked "enkel voor professionele bieders" (professional bidders only). Which countries are allowed is not confirmed.
- Businesses: You open a business account (Gewerblich) with your company number, a validated VAT number, the name of the person acting and billing details. Anyone who logs in to the account binds your company. Neither the terms nor the FAQ ask for a deposit. EU businesses outside Belgium with a valid VAT ID pay no VAT once AuctionPort accepts their documents.
Registration
- Choose a private or a business account on the site.
- Businesses enter their VAT number and pass the validation step.
- Private buyers upload ID for the automated check.
- If online signup fails, email your details and staff create the account.
- Book a viewing slot by email before you bid.

How bidding works
- A proxy bid (volmachtbod) bids just above others for you, up to your maximum. How ties between equal maximums are settled is not confirmed.
- Each lot has a fixed increment. It ranges from EUR 5–15 below EUR 100 up to EUR 1,000–3,000 above EUR 20,000.
- The terms say a bid in the last 10 minutes extends the lot by 10 minutes. In practice, lots close in 15-minute slots from 19:00, often running to 22:00 or later.
- Starting bids are agreed with the supplier. Lots show no reserve.
- The highest bid does not guarantee a sale. AuctionPort may refuse to award a lot for commercial or other reasons.
- Your bid is binding and you cannot withdraw it.
- AuctionPort may cancel any bid it considers abnormal.
Watch out
- Before you confirm a bid, check the summary of fees and total price the platform shows; once confirmed, the bid is binding. Set your limit in advance and stop there.
- "Works" (werkend) is not a warranty. Buyers report hidden defects, wrong hour readings and missing parts.
- You get the pickup address only after paying, and buyers report wrong or distant addresses.
- Business buyers carry the risk from the award, get no warranty, and lose goods left uncollected for 2 months.
- Support rarely answers, and buyers say they were pressed to delete reviews.
Verdict: A real machinery seller with clear fees. View the lot first, and never bid above your own valuation.
